Ingredients: Dehydrated Cane Juice:

We use real food-grade cane sugar, the kind you might put in your coffee or tea. Why? Because we believe in uncomplicated exfoliation - the kind that you can rinse down the drain and leaves no harm to the environment or to your face.

Sodium Bicarbonate:

Good old fashioned baking soda is one of the most underrated compounds for skin’s health. Used to disrupt bacteria production without destroying your skin's acid mantle, we included this in our sugar scrub to help form a thicker, more luxurious texture when applied as a mask while pulling double duty as an anti-acne, anti-inflammatory property.

Chamomile Flowers:

A flower is more than just a pretty face. It can be used to make yours pretty, too! Just like the kind you sprinkle in a sachet or steep when you’re stressed, these organic, ground chamomile flowers provide a soothing, calming presence that keeps skin in check while scrubbing off dead skin cells and impurities. In addition to being a bit of a hippy, chamomile is also kind of a time traveler -- it works hard to calm and protect skin from acne and breakouts now and in the future, while also lifting the effects of past scars, brown spots, and splotchy skin tones.

Directions for use: The Hula Way: A spoonful mixed with your Raw Honey Face Wash + Mask and a little water for consistency. Exfoliate 1-2 minutes. Leave on for 5 minutes, if desired. Rinse well.

But Also Good: By itself mixed with a little water and a drop of lemon juice.

Is Sugar good for oily skin?

Sugar is great for oily skin. In fact, this sugar and baking soda blend works by gently exfoliating the crud out of your pores, while the chamomile calms and heals.

Is Sugar good for dry skin?

Sugar is excellent for dry skin. The chamomile in this mixture is calming, while the sugar and baking soda provide gentle exfoliation.

How do I use Sugar to exfoliate?

Like any cleansing grain, take a spoonful of Sugar in the palm of your hand with a sprinkle of water to form a paste. Add Honey Face Wash + Mask, if desired. Scrub gently over face for a minute or two. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.

How do I use Sugar as a face mask?

Simply leave the mix on a bit longer.

How long will a Sugar pouch last?

Typical use is one bamboo spoonful, mixed with Honey Face Wash + Mask, 1-3 times per week. **Keep dry between uses**

  • 1 oz pouch will last 6+ uses (2-6 weeks)
  • 2 oz pouch will last 12+ uses (4-12 weeks)
How do I compost my Sugar paper pouch?
  • If you have a healthy compost pile, toss it in.
  • If your city picks up compost, toss it in.
  • Or, it can go in the recycling bin.
The ingredients are simple. Can I make this at home?

Yes, yes you can!

By deciding to manufacture our products more like a food company would, rather than "Mass Brand Skincare Co.", we're able to price our Mix-ins low. We hope you'll give them a try, but if you prefer to DIY a little harder then feel free to mix it yourself:

  • Dehydrated Cane Juice (the rawest sugar... not the coarse grain stuff)
  • Sodium Bicarbonate (aka baking soda)
  • Chamomile Flowers (powdered)
